What to pack for a surf trip
Two suits, one cover-up, a hat that stays on: the only packing list you need for a week of waves.
A week of waves needs less than you think. Pack two suits so one is always dry, one light cover-up that goes from sand to street, and a hat with a chin strap — the ocean keeps the unsecured ones.
Make one of your suits a workhorse: a surf halter or scoop one-piece that stays put through popup after popup. The second can be the fun one — the print you bought for beach bars and golden hour.
Leave room for reef-safe sunscreen, a quick-dry towel and a tote that fits a damp suit. Everything else, the beach town will lend you.
